Well, I forgot to sign up until Saturday but I did join the sew-in. Friday night I worked on Sawtooth Stars for a swap with the ladies at Quilting Around the World. (Sure wish the color and print texture showed up better in the photo!)
The 6" Stars will go on the cat's "tummy", mine have a Pinwheel center that finishes at 3 inches. The above photo shows some Pinwheels I'll be using, some cat fur fabric and parts of a cat block. My cats are black, grey and two different browns, we send in 10 blocks. Stars are not supposed to be very bright colors so I raided some civil war charms for the Pinwheel parts.
Below is my mess of a sewing spot, cutting board is next door in the laundry room. Once the cat blocks are mailed I hope to work more in my sewing room, trying to get things sorted and put away.
Hopefully the block sewing will go faster once all the Star blocks are complete. Then it is fun to see the cats come together and I will be sure to post pics of the Constellation Cats :) before mailing them to our hostess.
Oh, how sad the story about your chickens is. I'm glad two survived! Loved reading through your blog and thanks for the comment on mine.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping my at my place..... I had to laugh at the fabric all around the sewing machine.......... that's just how mine looks!! Happy 4 July to you........
