Strawberry Tree

Found this lovely tree at HomeDespot last spring. It is native to Irelandand is one of the prettiest ornamental trees I've ever seen. The bark is a rusty color and trunk is twisted. The leaves stay glossy green even after freezing snow we had. Fruits are ripe when red and mature in the winter after a year. Sounds weird to me but so far the tree is holding true to the description I found here- http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/fruit_garden/109973 It would be amusing to harvest the fruit and make a jam or jelly but we will leave it for birds if they will take it. The tree has done so well it would be nice to plant a few more.
