Back Already

Had to take time for a post because something exciting has happened. One of the Rhode Island Red hens gave us a small brown egg this morning. We bought the 6 chicks at five weeks old way back in August and raised them on the back porch in a huge wire dog crate. Since they were late chicks we did not expect eggs until spring. Now I'll be checking for eggs every day. Photo's are baby chicks at 8 weeks, the white is our Leghorn rooster. Other photos are the coop while under construction. DH and a friend from his work built it. Will post pics of finished coop later on. (Sorry, the pics will not resize any larger).
