Fire Smoke and a Sad Note

Winds blowing fire smoke towards our house Thursday night. Winds change direction, sometimes our sky is clear. We decided to go into town for pizza so we could eat smoke free. Chelsea is really excited to go too. She loves a ride to anywhere. LOLYou can see how dark the sky is as we leave the Tombstone Highway.
Fire smoke over Huachuca Mountains closer to town, not as thick. Fire has been burning behind the mountain ranges, towards Sonoita. Acres and acres of burned grassland on the old Empire Ranch. No telling when it will be put out.
Found this old photo of Chelsea as a teen puppy. The silver was still coming into her hair (silvers are born black). She was a riot as a pup, still is as a girl aged 6 yrs now.Diamond string quilt in background (gifted to my sis).

On a sad note- Old Simon (our apricot poodle) is not doing well. This is last week, he props himself to stand steady. Now we help him get up and steady him to walk.

I think Simon has reached his end of days. Sad times are coming soon. Please say a little prayer for Simon.

  4. Oh my dear friend, You and Simon are both in my prayers! It's the toughest thing we do for our friends. I'll also pray those fires stay far from you. That is really scarey :(
Keep us posted on how you all are doing!

  5. I'm sending my prayers for Simon and his humans, along with quilted hugs for comfort. I do believe that having to make the decision to help my Dewey and Badger cross the Rainbow Bridge was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I will be thinking of you and sending angel spirits to help you.

  6. I feel for you. Our old apricot poodle, Sandy, was 13 and could hardly walk when we took the decision that we all dread. As soon as he was gone we just wanted him back. It was an awful feeling and it took a long, long time to get over it.
Having a dog is a mixture orf joy and pain. Thankfully it is mostly joy, but the pain is hard to bear.

  8. We are so sorry to hear about Simon, that's the one hard thing about having a pet, and that decision is never easy.
Our paws/fingers are crossed that he may start feeling a little better,
