High Desert Weather
Beautiful skies here in the high desert. This view is from the house in town, watching clouds build for a heavy summer rain. The wall of water can easily be seen, it came at us in a rush and flooded the entire front yard. We did not have our seasonal rains in 2009, hope this year they come because the water quickly grows grasses and greens up the mesquites. In the first photo you can see how green the Huachuca Mountains are. Moisture from the south (Baja CA, Mexico) boils up over the mountains from early June thru late August. Locals call it the "Monsoon Season". I guess we are locals now since we've been in the area for 8(!?) years. Click on photos for closer up look.
